Transfer application 2026, Novia | General admission criteria The applicant must have a valid right to study at a university/a UAS in Finland . The current studies must be at the same educational level as the degree programme transferring to. A student in a bachelor’s degree programme cannot transfer to a master’s degree programme, and vice versa. The applicant has been registered as attending for at least one academic year (two terms) at the sending university/degree programme. The applicant must have enough study time left to complete a degree during the remaining study time. The completed studies must be suitable for the degree programme the applicant is transferring to. The applicant must have advanced purposefully in their previous studies. When accepting a study place through a transfer student application, the previous study place is automatically cancelled. The duration of study for the new degree will not be extended, and the time used for the previous studies will be subtracted from the new duration of study. The duration of the right to study at Novia UAS is determined based on the standard duration of the degree programme to which the student has applied. The semesters that the applicant has already used at the original UAS/university are deducted from the standard duration of the degree programme. When assessing the eligibility for a transfer, credits that will be accredited are taken into account. In the assessment of the applicant's previous studies, only courses that are completed by 31 May are considered. It must be possible to complete the remaining studies within the right to study that is left after the already used semesters have been deducted. This means that the remaining studies must be: less than 90 ECTS if the remaining right to study is one (1) year* < 120 ECTS it the remaining right to study is 1,5 years* < 150 ECTS if the remaining right to study is 2 years* < 180 ECTS if the remaining right to study is 2,5 years* < 210 ECTS if the remaining right to study is 3 years* < 240 ECTS if the remaining right to study is 3,5 years* *The additional year (two semesters) that is automatically included in the standard duration of the right to study is considered in the table above. In addition to the requirements above, the transfer application follows the admission criteria used in the joint application 1 and 2, spring 2025. Separate aptitude tests are only organized for degree programmes that have such a requirement in the joint application.
