Bachelor of Business Information Systems

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBISY) degree program at Australian National University (ANU) offers a unique blend of business acumen and advanced technology skills, empowering students to excel in today's data-driven business environment. Throughout the BBIS program, students will develop a solid understanding of core business information principles and project management. Simultaneously, they will acquire essential technical skills in programming, cybersecurity foundations, and database systems. This balanced curriculum ensures graduates are well-equipped to contribute effectively to businesses and organisations across various industries. A key component of the BBIS program is its experiential learning element, which includes a mandatory capstone experience and optional internship placements. Students will apply their knowledge and skills in real-world business settings, gaining invaluable industry insights and building essential networks for future career opportunities. To further tailor their studies and explore specific areas of interest, students have up to ten elective courses. This allows students to pair the BBIS in a Flexible Double Degree or select from a broad range of Majors and Minors from across the ANU, enabling students to build upon their expertise and specialise in many diverse and related areas, such as Accounting, Management, Corporate Sustainability, Cyber Security, Intelligent Systems, International Business, and Marketing. Upon completion of the BBIS degree, graduates will possess the skills needed to design, implement, and manage advanced information systems that drive business success. They will be prepared for diverse roles within organisations, including data analysts, IT project managers, business analysts, and cybersecurity specialists, while maintaining a strong ethical foundation and commitment to sustainable business practices.
